Karen Desrosiers is a writer and visual artist living and working in the seacoast region of New Hampshire.
It is the responsibility of all artists, whether literary, visual, or performing, to process the world in a way that is meaningful and authentic, and to help their readers and viewers understand the human condition in a new way.
In my fiction writing, I often explore the darker sides of life, how people treat each other, questions of family dynamics and relationships.
My visual art, on the other hand, is about joy and hope, with bright colors and positive images.
It is the perfect balance for me, as an artist. After all, there can't be the light without the dark, as they say.
